Crispy Chickpeas

Not BBQ: Crispy Chickpeas

Not BBQ – Crispy Chickpeas:

Eighth cook from Root and Leaf by Rich Harris, this time it was Crispy Chickpeas.

The Prep:

You could do these in the BBQ during another cook or at the end of a cook, I did them in the oven as I didn’t want to fire it up just to cook some chickpeas!

Salt, sugar, water, chilli, garlic powder and oil in a bowl then mixed. The chilli powder was from Steenbergs and smells fantastic – £2.60 for 50g.

In two tea towels the chickpeas were rubbed to remove the skins, took me a while to do the rest by hand! Chickpeas rolled in the oil mixture then into the oven for 40 minutes.

Once cooled I grated some lime zest on. Looking good!

SUMMARY:

These were a tasty snack to have in the house. I may have slipped with the chilli powder as they were pretty spicey! Just meant I got them all to myself though!
